Africa Academy of Excellence and Development - Transforming Economic Ownership Patterns
The Africa Academy of Excellence and Development (AAED) was conceptualized by committed and concerned entrepreneurs based in Southern Africa, deriving its impetus from the growing business opportunities in the Southern African Development Community.
AAED is registered under the Deeds and Companies Act and headquartered in Zimbabwe. Our strategic thrust is to incubate and connect all economic hubs to identify and maximize the ever-increasing and evident opportunities in Southern Africa.
In Africa, there are just 20 men who are dollar billionaires owning huge swathes of the African economy. Yet Africa is the face of underdevelopment in the whole world while being one of the biggest and richest continents. Poverty will never wish itself away until we take action to turn the situation around.
"Ownership matters. Not private ownership like all those billionaires, but shared ownership in an inclusive economy. An economy where each of us is a contributing part of the whole."
The collective ownership of value chains and everything within local economies is feasible. It starts at the local level. It needs to be based on the ownership and control of production in a sociocracy where decisions are made by consent.
A solidarity economy drives the development of local economic hubs from within. Incentives for innovation lead to collective leadership for quality products in the value chain of economic hubs.
